Who is eligible for this service? 

Commercially registered companies in Qatar that possess a valid Trade License issued by ictQATAR's Technical Regulatory Authority. 

What is the approval process for this service?

• Commercially registered company with a Trade License must submit to the Technical Regulatory Authority an Application for New Models of Radio Communications Equipment and/or Telecom Terminal Equipment. ictQATAR may request a sample of the model and technical product details.
• The Technical Regulatory Authority will evaluate and test the equipment to ensure compatibility with current national and international standards.
• If approval is granted, the Technical Regulatory Authority issues the Type Approval certificate and advises the applicant to collect the certificate in person.
• If the item is rejected, the applicant is apprised of the reasons and told what actions would reverse the decision.
• Applicants are required to pay fees and collect the Type Approval certificate from the Technical Regulatory Authority.

How long does the approval process take?

Up to 10 working days, depending upon the type of equipment to be tested. Timing is determined on a case-by-case basis and the applicant will be advised accordingly at the time of application.

Sometimes the QTel network has to be used in order to confirm compliance, this will now be done via all licensed operators in the future.
