Dr. Ghadah Fakieh leads ictQATAR's
e-Education team. ictQATAR's e-Education strategy aims to enhance learning through ICT and build the underlying ICT capabilities needed to enrich lives and drive economic development. The strategy focuses on universalizing access to ICT, in order to build an information-based society and give people living and working in Qatar with equitable access to knowledge. The e-Education team works with government partners and vendors in the private sector to bring innovation to the classroom and help people gain and deepen their technology skills so they can realize their goals.
Dr. Fakieh has a wealth of experience in education and ICT development. She has consulted on educational program planning and development, learning strategies and intervention plans, academic counseling, and behavior management. She has conducted many lectures on special education, teaching strategies and parent training around the Gulf region.
She established and managed the Learning Center, a private nonprofit international educational organization that was founded in 1996 by Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, which was founded in 1995 by His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Emir and Head of State of Qatar, and Her Highness Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser Al-Missned. Dr. Ghadah Fakieh has also been a professor of educational technology at Qatar University.
Dr. Fakieh serves on several boards including, The Learning Center, Shafallah Center for Children with Special Needs and has served on the board of Qatar Academy.
Dr. Fakieh has a PhD from Boston University in Curriculum and Instruction/ Educational Media and Technology, and a MSc in Education Media and Technology and a BSc Psychology from Portland State University.
