ii-Gov is an ambitious programme in its early stages of development which has nonetheless made some significant advances since its launch. Through methodical development processes and the structure provided by a well planned framework, ictQATAR has ensured the robust development of the i-Gov programme along with other ICT programmes.

i-Gov Objectives focus on:

• Improving government services to users.  
• Increasing internal government efficiency.
• To improve governance and transparency.

i-Gov Master Plan:

ictQATAR created a strategic master-plan for the implementation of the entire i-Gov program. The plan was created in collaboration with numerous stakeholders and outlined the introduction of four phases of 54 initiatives for the period from 2006 until 2011.

i-Gov Strategy aims to:

• Address the ICT "Environment" through legislation, policies, guidelines and standards.
• Address ICT "Readiness" through the construction of infrastructure and development of capabilities that will become available to all government entities.
• Address ICT "Usage" by increasing the number of actual e-services available online such as businesses registration, visa services and resident permits.
