Who is eligible for this service?

Licensed telecommunications operators and private radio-communication users.

What is the approval process for this service?

Licensed telecommunications operators and private radio-communication users must submit to ictQATAR's Technical Regulatory an application for use of any frequency and/or frequency band.
The Technical Regulatory Authority evaluates the application and checks against the National Frequency Allocation Plan (NFAP) and the National Frequency Allocation Table (NFAT) to ensure compliance with all ITU relevant rules, regulations and recommendations.
Upon completion of the evaluation, the Technical Regulatory Authority will either (1) recommend changes to the application, (2) recommend approval, or (3) reject the application.
Once the application has been approved, the Technical Regulatory Authority will issue a Radio Spectrum License to operate the equipment listed in the application on recommended frequencies only.
The Technical Regulatory Authority will notify the applicant when the Radio Spectrum License certificate is issued and ready for collection.
At the time of collection, applicants are required to pay all relevant fees for the right to use the assigned radio frequency and/or frequency band.

How long does the approval process take?

Applicant will receive an estimate of lead-time upon submission of the application to ictQATAR. He/she will be notified by fax message/phone/e-mail as appropriate.
